“When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.
You didn’t choose me. I chose you. I appointed you to go and produce lasting fruit, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask for, using my name.”
John 15:8, 16 NLT
I've heard preachers and individuals say from time to time, when they're not as fruitful as they would like to be, that it's OK because we're just called to be faithful.
I want to challenge that here with these two verses. While there will be times when we are faithful but not fruitful, I do not believe this should be our pattern. According to these verses we're called and chosen to be fruitful. That makes fruitfulness pretty important in my eyes.
